It's a process...

... and how you tackle it matters. Especially to those working with you. Why not find out about yourself, and share it with those who support your work?

Artisan or Gambler?

Which strategy resembles you most closely?

Which Grantotype are you?

Chronotypes may keep you up all night, but Grantotypes don't have to. Take this course, find out and then you'll sleep like a baby.

About the course

This quick course takes you through grant applications styles and Grantotypes - a light-hearted way to think about what your strategy for applications is and your approach to grant writing. There is no right or wrong here, just self-discovery and the opportunity to share what you learn, with those who you work with. If I had known this about some of my closest collaborators we might have avoided some of the friction that can occur in teams that compete for high stakes grants.

Oliver Bogler, PhD

I am a cancer scientist who has seen grants from all three angles - I successfully competed for fellowships, R01 and R21 grants and a SPORE during my active research years. I've reviewed for over 25 funding agencies including being a permanent member and chairing NIH study sections. I've led a team that oversaw a portfolio of over $200M in fellowship, career development, training and cancer research education grants for NCI. So I have gotten, reviewed and given grants - and I am here to share my knowledge with you to help you put your best application forward.
